...Seven children are transported from summer camp to a stange world inhabited by creatures called Digital Monsters. Here, there are good and bad Digital Monsters, or Digimon for short. But it seems that the bad Digimon are after the children. Later, it is revealed to the kids that are have been predestined to save this world from evil. Each child has also been assigned a specific Digimon guardian, who can upgrade into more powerful forms. To ensure that they prevail, the children must locate the seven crests which represent emotions and characteristics: courage, friendship, love, sincerity, knowledge, hope and reliability.
